**Plumelisse has just reached 100 users.**
On the scale of the Internet, 100 may sound like a small number. But for a project developed by one person, which started with the idea of giving writers a pleasant place to write, organize their novels and keep all their ideas together, it is a milestone that means a lot.
So, first of all: thank you.
Thank you to everyone who created an account, started a project, wrote a few lines or tens of thousands of words. Thank you as well to those who tested Plumelisse, reported an issue, suggested an improvement or simply took the time to discover the application.
Plumelisse has already changed considerably since its first versions. The editor has grown, projects can contain chapters organized into folders, notes, characters and a timeline. Statistics help writers follow their progress, saves protect their work, and each new feature is gradually turning Plumelisse into a workspace capable of supporting an entire writing project.
The goal, however, has not changed: to make Plumelisse a genuine workspace for writers, simple enough to stay out of the way of their writing, yet complete enough to accompany them from the first idea to the finished manuscript.
And the next steps will take that idea much further.
One of the biggest upcoming developments will focus on self-publishing.
Plumelisse can already export manuscripts as PDF and DOCX files. But finishing a novel is often only the beginning of another stage. Writers who want to publish their own book still need to prepare the right files, adjust their formatting and meet the requirements of different publishing platforms.
The goal of the upcoming export system is to make that process considerably easier.
**Eventually, the idea is to take a Plumelisse project and directly generate a file designed for its publishing destination.**
This will include exports designed for ebooks and self-publishing, with formats such as EPUB and dedicated workflows for platforms such as Amazon Kindle, alongside other publishing solutions.
The ambition is simple: instead of finishing a novel in Plumelisse and then rebuilding or correcting the entire document in another application, writers will be able to prepare their publication directly from their writing workspace.
Plumelisse will therefore no longer necessarily stop at the final chapter. Step by step, it will be able to accompany a story from writing all the way to auto-publication.
But another, very different evolution is also taking shape.
Writing a novel is not only about having the right tools. You also need a reason to keep coming back to write.
There are times when words flow naturally… and other times when simply opening the manuscript feels difficult. Word-count goals and statistics can help, but a writer's motivation cannot be reduced to watching a number increase.
That idea is at the heart of a much more ambitious new concept around writing motivation currently being developed.
I will not reveal everything yet, because this system is important enough to deserve a full introduction of its own when it is ready. The goal, however, is to bring genuine elements of motivation, progression, discovery and collection into the Plumelisse universe, specifically designed to support writers over time.
Not simply a reward after writing a certain number of words.
Not simply another collection of badges.
The idea is to build something that makes writers want to progress, return to their manuscripts regularly and see their journey as a writer evolve alongside their stories.
**Writing must remain at the center. Everything around it should make you want to return to it.**
There is still a lot of work ahead for this part of Plumelisse, but it is already one of the most ambitious ideas planned for the future of the project.
And I would also like that future to be shaped more closely with the people actually using Plumelisse.
That is why the Plumelisse Discord will become increasingly important over the coming months.
It is intended to become a place where writers can talk to one another, share experiences, ask for writing help, suggest improvements, give feedback about Plumelisse and follow development more closely.
It will also be the best place to gradually discover upcoming features, get early glimpses of what is being built and take part in discussions about the future of the application.
**If you use Plumelisse, join the Discord and become part of what comes next.**
Reaching 100 users is an important symbolic milestone, but Plumelisse is still very young.
There is a huge amount left to build, improve and imagine.
Self-publishing will extend the journey of a manuscript beyond the writing stage. Future motivation systems will explore an entirely new side of supporting writers. And Discord will gradually help build a community around both writing and Plumelisse itself.
If you are only discovering Plumelisse today, you can explore the application's features or start your own writing project.
100 users is the first milestone. Now, on to the next one.
And most importantly: thank you for being here.
